The Maneki Neko or lucky cat, also known as the beckoning cat (Japanese:, maneki neko) is one of the most common talismans in Japan. The original Japanese name is maneki neko, which literally means "beckoning cat." Lucky cats raise their left paw, their right paw, or sometimes both.
Studio Inktvis fell for RISO because of the intense color prints it produces. The principle of RISO printing is therefore very similar to that of screen printing. The final print is handmade or beautiful, but not perfect. The process is also environmentally friendly. The ink is based on fairly produced soybean oil and the masters are made from Japanese wax paper. The machine consumes very little energy because RISO printing is a cold printing process.
