Silk
Silk is the fabric that calls for special occasions. Sublime drape, soft delicate sheen, incomparable hand-feel: it turns a dress into a ceremony piece and a blouse into a wardrobe treasure. Our selection favours natural silks (mulberry, wild) and avoids « silky » synthetics that have nothing of silk but the name.
You'll find several families here: silk chiffon (very lightweight, ideal for layering and dressy gowns), silk crêpe (fluid drape without transparency, perfect for chic dresses and blouses), silk satin (maximum sheen, for evening pieces), and shantung (characteristic irregular texture, for more structured pieces).
For what projects? Dressy and evening dresses, chic blouses, precious linings, scarves, kimono-style robes, bridal accessories.
Expert tip: silk demands a microtex 60/8 or 70/10 needle, fine polyester thread or silk thread, and plenty of fine pins. Press from the wrong side with a gentle iron, never with direct water.
