Calissone × Happy Water Color - A Portuguese summer
After Cuba in 2025, the Happy Water Color × Calissone collaboration sets sail for Portugal. Two exclusive fabrics, two motifs hand-painted in watercolor by Laureline (@happy.watercolor), made in France by Laure and the Calissone team. A textured viscose for flow, a slubby cotton for structure - and this summer, your stitches taste like pastéis de nata.

The A Portuguese Summer capsule brings together two pieces, opposite in nature, united in intent:
- Lisboa - a medium-weight textured viscose with beautiful drape and good opacity, adorned with a maxi botanical and floral motif in deep blue on off-white. It evokes the patina of Lisbon's azulejos and the lush flora of the Alfama district. Ideal for long flowy dresses, blouses, kimonos, and evening scarves.
- Porto - a lightweight slubby cotton with its signature irregular weave, run through with watercolor-painted stripes and dotted with summer accents. A nod to Porto's Atlantic light, its blue-and-white azulejos, and the colorful buzz of the Ribeira waterfront. Perfect for shirts, structured dresses, mid-length skirts, and summer accessories.
Both fabrics are hand-painted in watercolor, then printed in France, in an eco-responsible mindset.
The Calissone spirit: no unlimited print runs, no reprinting on demand. The capsule lives for one season. When it's gone, it's gone - and next year, we set sail for a new destination.
What to sew with them?
Buena Lisboa shines on pieces that move: long dresses, flowy blouses, kimonos. Use a microtex 70/10 needle, fine polyester 120 thread, and plenty of pins while cutting (viscose slides).
Buena Porto has more structure - it's the fabric for sharp shapes: shirts, shirt dresses, mid-length skirts, summer tote bags. A universal 80/12 needle is all you need.
