100% cotton fabric with a tartan pattern in warm tones in charcoal gray, pale mustard and red. Handwoven with Kala cotton.
Kala cotton is an indigenous cotton from the Kachchh region of India, entirely irrigated by rain. It is grown sustainably thanks to the natural resistance of the plant, without the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. It produces a strong, coarse fiber that results in a fabric with a unique texture. This fabric would be perfect for making beautiful skirts, dresses or tops.
As Indian fabrics are handmade, they may have weaving or printing irregularities which add to their charm and are not considered defects.
This fabric is printed and dyed by hand. For the first few washes, put the fabric in the machine drum at 30 or 40 degrees with a handful of table salt. This will set the dye to prevent it from bleeding.
