Highland skirt pattern
The Highland skirt is a long skirt decorated with 3 ruffles. It consists of a straight skirt type bottom on which the ruffles are assembled as well as a belt. It closes with an invisible back zip. The pattern of the ruffles being partly on the bias, your skirt will have a nice soft drape which gives it a sleek, low-volume line. A shortened version with 2 ruffles is also possible, using less fabric.
Sewing level
Intermediate, the technical points are the assembly of the ruffles, with if you wish to perfect the finishes a rolled hem and the assembly of the invisible back zip.
From 34 to 52, for a height of 1m65.

Choice of fabric
A light to medium weight fabric (80 to 200 g/m2), a beautiful viscose, a light chambray, a fine cotton satin, a cotton fabric, a pretty crepe, a very fine wool, even tulle or even silk. The choice of fabric will also determine how your ruffles hang. I recommend a fabric that is easy to iron. MANDATORY: the fabric must be at least 140 width wide.
