Recommended fabrics:
Opt for fabrics such as cotton, cotton poplin or linen (80 to 160 g/m²), with good hold.
The finer the fabric, the more marked the smocked effect will be. Conversely, on a thicker fabric, the smocking will be less tight.
Ideas for creating an upcycled blouse or dress:
- The Hortense pattern lends itself particularly well to reusing vintage sheets or tablecloths. However, choose soft and light fabrics to make smocking easier.
- Floral patterns will make the top unique, while a light plain fabric will bring timelessness to your wardrobe.
