The Bauhaus was a revolutionary school of art, design and architecture founded in Germany in 1919 by Walter Gropius. It became one of the most influential movements in modern design, rejecting the distinction between artist and craftsman and advocating functionality and simplicity. His approach is very interdisciplinary. Bauhaus students studied several disciplines: metallurgy, weaving, architecture, painting, design, etc.
We recognize the Bauhaus by its clean lines (red, yellow, blue, but also black, white and gray) and the essential geometric shapes of its creations (circles, triangles, squares and straight lines are the key elements). Bauhaus is present in art, but also in product design (furniture, buildings, typography).
LaPetiteMaisonCouture textile applications are woven labels to sew on. They are made in Europe and made from premium quality polyester threads; therefore they do not scratch or discolor. Used in good conditions, they have an unlimited lifespan.
